12.3.07 F*ck me, it's a giant crab!

My second video for Flipron, "Dogboy vs Monsters" has just been released. Giant crabs! Barbie filth! Mad scientists! Wicked children! Dogs! Best things! All on gorgeous 16mm! Warning: this video might indicate just how much of my youth I wasted watching crappy old B-movies. Also: dare we enter it into this festival? Somehow I don't think it's exactly what they meant by "pet lover"...

This was the most upside-down production I've worked on yet. All the tough stuff was easy (the first slate of the first day, involving 8 children, 2 musicians, an actress and a dog, 10 minutes up a muddy path in the forest? No problems. CGI? Piece o' cake.) But the pedestrian stuff... good grief. My post-house managed to bust through their deadlines by about 4 days, my original actress dropped out at 1pm on a Friday when we were supposed to go to Somerset at 7pm... I had to put my rent up as a deposit at the costume-hire place, which had never asked for a deposit before... Still. We survived, sanity mostly intact.

Meanwhile, I'm editing the "Bedroom Superstar" music video for Scarlet Blonde - probably the craziest, most rock and roll video I've done - and I've also just found out my previous video for Flipron, "Raindrops Keep Falling on the Dead", has been selected for the Nashville Film Festival.

Still can't pay my rent, though.
