26.2.07 The pleasure of your company is requested...

...On Friday the 13th of April 2007 for WHITE MISCHIEF, a "New Vaudeville" rock and roll circus combining unique, theatrical live bands with unforgettable cabaret performances in a dark, magical voodoo atmosphere, brought to you by my good self and Toby Slater of Kunta Kinte. It all kicks off at 19:30 in a top-secret central London location (see here for details).

IN THE MAIN ROOM:

The Real Tuesday Weld, Inventors of "antique beat", whose track "Bathtime in Clerkenwell has appeared on numerous television commercials and who are debuting their upcoming album "The London Book of the Dead";

Flipron, Recipients of a four star live review in the Independent, this Glastonbury band commandeer lap steel, accordion, harmonica and whatever else comes to hand to create a sound described as a "genuinely uncategorisable treat" by the Observer; they will be launching their latest single at WHITE MISCHIEF.

Kunta Kinte, Making a wild tribal pop sound with their two drummers and chanting backing vocals, Kunta Kinte have been described as "very good" by cult website Popjustice and as "a cross between Adam Ant and the Scissor Sisters", by music biz publication Record of the Day.

Evil Genius, Launching their debut EP, Evil Genius will emerge from their secret mountaintop lair to perform their own brand of "pop noir" that would have Nick Cave twisted with envy.

With entr'acte performances by:The legendary Marisa Carnesky, whose phantasmagorical Carnesky's Ghost Train has appeared at locations as diverse as Trafalgar Square and the Glastonbury Festival, performing her daring "Magic Temple" act involving a bed of nails, swords and a giant earwig;

The Great Voltini, who channels terrifying arcs of real electricity using megavolt Tesla coils, as seen in the movie The Prestige;

The Sphynx, an exotic fortune-telling, talking leopard;

Mademoiselle Fifi.

IN THE SIDE ROOM:

Lifedrawing parlour hosted by Dr Sketchy, the "anti art school" class that has spawned a movement and a bestselling book in New York; compere is the notorious Dusty Limits, who has won plaudits for his Edinburgh show and his appearances at London's Volupté lounge.

There are a VERY limited number of early-bird tickets on sale at a mere £10 before end of February. They go up to £15 advance from March and £20 on the night. Tickets can be ordered from our website, myspace page or Ticketweb.

In other news, if any of you are going to SXSW, my video "Raindrops Keep Falling on the Dead" is screening on March 10 and March 17. Also, animeboredom.co.uk has voted my Kat & Mouse series and Svetlana Chmakova's wonderful Dramacon as the best AmeriManga books of 2006.
